Advent Spiral Festival
Sunday, December 5, 2021 @ 4:40 pm - 7:00 pm
REACTOR WAY CAMPUS – GREAT ROOM
You are warmly invited to our Advent Spiral, a celebration that lies at the very heart of the school festival life. The Advent Spiral brings us into the quiet, reverent mood of the coming season in an experience of bringing light into the darkness. This year we are continuing a new tradition we began last year. Rather than a group experience, children and their parents will have the chance to walk our beautiful Advent spiral of greenery at an individual timeslot of their choosing.
The festival traditionally begins with an “angel” carrying light to the center of the spiral garden and lighting the central candle. Then each child walks the unlit path, one at a time, into the center of the spiral path of evergreens, carrying an apple with a candle in it. They light their candle and carefully place the apple down along the path as they walk back out of the spiral.
This year, you will select an individual time-slot to walk the spiral. Larger parties will be asked to sign up for more than one time slot. Upon arrival, please wait in your car until your scheduled time. A greeter will welcome you to enter through the Early Childhood gate. You will be shepherded into our Great Room, where your child can walk the spiral and place a lighted candle along the path. Parents are welcome to accompany their child, or even have their own experience walking the spiral! After exiting the spiral, you will be guided to exit the building through the front door.

We Need Extra Tree Trimmings for the Advent Spiral!
Many hands make light work! The faculty need parent support to make a beautiful spiral path of evergreens for our beloved Advent Spiral festival. Please help us gather evergreens at Lowe’s, Home Depot, or other nurseries near your house. Ask the fresh tree seller where the box of free trimmings is located and gather what you can in your car (a tarp or blanket is recommended). It’s often helpful to return several times to gather more as additional trimmings become available. You may also share trimmings from your own tree-cutting.
DROP OFF BY FRIDAY, DEC. 3
Please drop off evergreen trimmings and branches to the Reactor Way campus to the Grades Gate.
