Advent Spiral

Friday, December 11, 2020 - Sunday, December 13, 2020

Advent Spiral is a celebration that lies at the very heart of the school festival life. The Advent Spiral brings us into the quiet, reverent mood of the coming season in an experience of bringing light into the darkness. This year we have adapted this beloved festival for these unprecedented times. Rather than a group experience, children and their parents will have the chance to walk our beautiful Advent Spiral of greenery at an individual timeslot of their choosing.

The festival traditionally begins with an “angel” carrying light to the center of the spiral garden and lighting the central candle. Then each child walks the unlit path, one at a time, into the center of the spiral path of evergreens, carrying an apple with a candle in it. They light their candle and carefully place the apple down along the path as they walk back out of the spiral.
