8th Grade Student Presentations
Saturday, April 27 @ 1:00 pm
The 2024 8th-grade class of NSWS invites you to attend the 8th-grade project presentations. The 8th-grade presentations will display the year-long projects that the students have been working on. Topics this year include:
- Oil portraiture
- Learning to SCUBA dive
- Building a Go-Kart
- Classical architecture
- Singing and songwriting
- Short-story writing
- World cuisine and cooking
- Improv acting
- Sewing a quinceañera dress
At Nevada Sage Waldorf School and other Waldorf schools around the world, each 8th-grade student embarks upon a year-long independent study. Students pursue an in-depth study of a chosen topic under the guidance of an expert mentor. Students are invited to select a project that piques their interest and has the potential to lay the groundwork for a lifelong passion. Across the year, students strengthen planning and research skills, cultivate new capacities and knowledge, and experience bringing a self-initiated project to completion.
