Part-time Teacher 

Nevada Sage Waldorf School is seeking an experienced Strings Teacher to join our school community for the 2024- 2025 school year.  Responsibilities include teaching violin and cello, 2 periods per week to a 4th/5th grade class. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic teacher to work with children, ages 10-12 years old. The class size is 15 students.

About the Candidate We Seek

Candidates should have prior knowledge of teaching a strings class and familiarity with string pedagogy. Our ideal Strings Teacher candidate has familiarity with and interest in Waldorf Education.  Our faculty is seeking a like-minded colleague who is committed to collegial collaboration, self-development, and excellence in teaching.

About the Strings Position

A Strings Teacher is expected to be committed to and actively support the mission and educational goals of Nevada Sage Waldorf School. The Teacher shall teach from a foundation of the Waldorf educational philosophy, and integrate this foundation with other current educational approaches.  A Strings Teacher is responsible for meeting the educational needs of assigned students and for providing appropriate instruction as prescribed by the Nevada Sage Waldorf School curriculum and grade level standards.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the following areas: academic excellence, developmentally appropriate curriculum, consideration of individual student differences, development of social skills, thorough lesson preparation, artistic presentation and classroom management.

Nevada Sage Waldorf School is located in the sunny Reno-Tahoe area between the foot of the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range and within the beautiful high desert.
