Annual Giving Campaign – Donate by November 12, 2021

Help support this year's goal of $30,000For over 20 years the school has been offering a children-centered, holistic educational experience for children in the heart of Reno, NV. We could not have done this without the amazing support of parents and others who have nurtured the school along for all these years. The school is now at a threshold with a capital campaign being kicked off to buy a property so that the school can continue to do this work into the future. The board and faculty are entering into this process because there is strong support and demand for the program in the Truckee Meadows area from parents. We are confident that this will continue and that the school will continue growing into the future.

At the same time, we must continue the educational program and we must not lose sight of the work that goes on every day. This is the purpose of the Annual Giving Campaign. The Campaign helps support the children and teachers by strengthening the general fund and enables the school to offer programming which can not be funded through fees. Through the generous giving of parents, we are able to offer programs like music lessons and movement classes as well as sending teachers for training and upgrading the facilities, including classrooms. We believe that the community is at the heart of the school and that our strength lies in the commitment and generosity of parents and others.

We Need Your Help

This year’s campaign goal of $30,000 will help fund many aspects of our school including teacher training and facility needs. We understand that some families have experienced financial challenges. Regardless of the amount you can donate, we ask that you contribute to the Annual Giving Campaign as your participation is crucial. Please consider giving to the campaign to the best of your ability and know that your generosity will go towards supporting the educational experience of the children.

There’s Still Time to Give

This year’s fundraising goal of $30,000 will help support the following:

  • Teacher Training: Our teachers are the pillars of our school. Without them and their willingness to give of themselves, we would not have a school. This year approximately 2.5% of our budget, $25,000, will go towards teacher training and continuing education. Currently, we have 4 fully trained teachers and 3 on the path of becoming fully trained. It is money well spent which serves to enrich our children’s education.
  • Facility Needs: When we add a first-grade class every year or open a new program, we are puzzled over how best to accommodate them. Until we secure a larger facility, we have implemented creative solutions like room dividers, built or taken down walls and cubbies, moved fences, and all manner of changes to extend our capacity to accommodate our growth. This type of facility work, along with the facility needs that emerge throughout the school year, takes financial resources to accomplish.
  • General Fund: Donations to the general fund support the current year’s operating expenses.

OUR SEASON OF GIVING: COURAGE, STRENGTH, AND MIGHT!

Our Annual Giving Campaign offers us the opportunity to affirm our mutual affection for our precious school, as well as support our outstanding faculty, administration, and exceptional programs that make us one of the highest quality nursery-8th grade schools in the state of Nevada.

In this season of Michaelmas, we call on our courage, strength, and might to lead us through the upcoming cold and dark winter months. We have affirmed through these past months that we can be flexible yet sturdy, creative, willing to accommodate, as well as be decisive. As faithful or capable as the Faculty, Administrators and Board members may be, they cannot solely support the school. Tuition alone does not fully cover the many and varied needs of our school to help us fulfill our mission.

“… to provide rigorous learning experiences that engage the mind, enliven the imagination, and honor the spiritual development of each child…”

We need your help.

This year’s campaign goal of $20,000 will help fund many aspects of our school including teacher training and facility needs. We understand that some families have experienced financial challenges. For those who can, please give generously. Regardless of the amount you can donate, we ask that you contribute to the Annual Giving Campaign as your participation is crucial. The future will be built upon our present contributions.

Courage. Strength. Might.

These are the qualities readily available to us in this season that can serve to shore up our resolve and bring us together in community, connected and whole, despite this time of physical distancing. As well, in our coming together for a worthy cause, we become greater versions of ourselves.

PLEASE DONATE BY NOVEMBER 20, 2020

This year’s fundraising goal of $20,000 will help support the following:

  • Teacher Training: Our teachers are the pillars of our school. Without them and their willingness to give of themselves, we would not have a school. Unlike many other private schools that have experienced teacher attrition, we have been blessed that each of our lead teachers has returned this year. This year approximately 2.5% of our budget, $25,000, will go towards teacher training and continuing education. Currently, we have 4 fully trained teachers and 3 on the path of becoming fully trained. It is money well spent which serves to enrich our children’s education.

Bridge Ceremony – Moved to first day of school

THE BRIDGE CEREMONY HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.

RISING FIRST GRADE FAMILIES ARE INVITED…

Bridge Ceremony
New date/time | August 26 @ 8:30am

This is a time for us to gather, and mark the journey of our children from Kindergarten to Grades School. From the Land of Imitation and Goodness; to the Land of Imagination and Beauty.

One by one, the kindergarten teachers will give each child a single rose, and send them over our wooden bridge- a symbol of transition and safe passage. Across the bridge, their first-grade teacher, their guide through the next eight school years, will receive them with a handshake. The children will have a moment with their new teacher, and we will close the ceremony with a community song.

“Make new friends, and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.

A circle is round it has no end, that’s how long you’re going to be my friend.”

HELP US REACH OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL FOR THIS YEAR!

Due to COVID-19 we were unable to hold our annual Spring Silent Auction in person so we are taking our auction online.  Now more than ever we need your support as this pandemic has impacted our school and families.

You can help us reach our fundraising goals by having some fun bidding on some great items.

WHY IS FUNDRAISING IMPORTANT TO NSWS?

At Nevada Sage Waldorf School our goal is to make Waldorf education available to all children, regardless of financial circumstances.

Our school community embraces the joy of learning and provides an education that enlivens the whole child with rich experiences, daily and weekly rhythms, along with seasonal festivals that celebrate the passage of time with beauty, meaning, and purpose.

Nevada Sage Waldorf is a Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten, and Grades K-8 independent, nonsectarian school, and holds the status of a non-profit 501c3 private school receiving no assistance from the State of Nevada for our budget.

We operate our developing school on a tight budget funded by our parent body and generous donors to our Spring Silent Auction. Contributions from our families and friends help bridge the gap between tuition and the funds required to run our school.

Thank you for your continued support of Nevada Sage Waldorf School.
