The Advent Spiral brings to the children, in a simple way, the mood of the coming season: moving from darkness into light. The festival begins in darkness, with an “angel” carrying light to the center of the spiral garden and lighting the central candle. One at a time then, each child walks the spiral path, arriving at the center and lighting their candle, then walking outward and carefully placing their candle along the path as they emerge.
This year we are happy to be returning to traditional group seatings, one at 5:00 pm and one at 6:30 pm (each seating will last about an hour). Children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade are welcome to walk the spiral and we encourage families with younger children to sign up for the first seating.
