Natacha Sperka
French Teacher
Natacha Sperka was born in the French-speaking, Walloon region of Belgium and now lives in Reno, NV. Ms. Sperka studied “Image Dans Le Milieu” an integrated art form in its environment at The Academy Of Beaux-Arts in Mons, Belgium for three years. She obtained a degree in teaching art to middle school students.
After college, she worked in an elementary school for nine years as an art teacher and supported the school with creative projects such as creating sets for school plays. Every summer she worked as a “monitrice” (counselor) where she planned activities like games, songs, and artistic projects.
In 2002, she emigrated to Reno where she dedicated her time painting, hiking, and volunteering many years with animal rescue shelters. She worked with younger children teaching some basic “Fun French” at U.N.R. She also taught some art classes in a private school in Reno.
Ms. Sperka finds happiness when she is immersed in a creative environment such as painting or connecting with nature and animals. She believes that a dynamic and creative approach can lead to a better experience for learning a new language.
