Martie Fine

Lead Nursery | Acorn

Miss Martie began her journey in Early Childhood Education when her own children were quite small.  Having been introduced to Waldorf education in 1998, she began work in Reno to establish a Waldorf school and founded Heart to Hand School in 2000, an EC program which began in her home and then evolved over the course of 13 years to become the Nevada Sage Waldorf School. She has a B.A. is in English and has taken extensive post-graduate classes in Early Childhood at both UNR and TMCC – and has spent 20 years working with young children.  After being a Waldorf EC teacher for 8 years, she worked for 10 years for the University of Nevada’s Early Head Start as a home visitor, providing developmental education and social support to a wide variety of families.

In 2018, Martie and her husband moved briefly to Portland Or., where she re-connected with her Waldorf roots and worked at Swallowtail Waldorf School and Farm as their Parent/Child class coordinator and office assistant. 2019 saw their return to Reno and Martie is delighted to once again join the faculty of Nevada Sage Waldorf School.
